Battle Los Angeles Movie in 2011

Battle Los Angeles is an upcoming sci-fi action movie directed by Jonathan Liebesman. It is starring Aaron Eckhart in the lead role. The movie is also starring Bridget Moynahan, Michelle Rodrigue and Michael Pea alongside an ensemble cast including Ramon Rodriguez and Ne-Yo. Battle Los Angeles will be released on February 18, 2011.

The film is loosely based on a true event that took place on February 25, 1942, involving a large-scale anti-aircraft artillery barrage against targets which subsequently remained unidentified:

But Jonathan Liebesman is a resolutely modern take on that event and we'll get to meet a few aliens:

Plot:
"When unknown forces put the City of Angels under attack, it is up to a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his new platoon to come to the rescue. As the invasion hits the streets of L.A., the Marines become our first and last line of defense against a highly powerful enemy."

Cast:
- Aaron Eckhart as a Marine Staff Sergent: he leads his new platoon against a surprise attack on Los Angeles, attempting to rescue civilians in Santa Monica and destroy the hub of the enemy's mysterious power grid, while similar epic battles are waged across the world in other cities...
- Michelle Rodriguez as Corporal Adriana Santos
- Bridget Moynahan as Michelle, a veterinarian originally from Nebraska who was taking care of her nieces when a surprise attack left them stranded in a community center.
- Michael Pena a father of a boy the Marines find along the way

I must admit that the movie Battle Los Angeles is catching my attention: I can see here an explosive combination (plot and actors) that could create an awesome science-fiction movie.
